    The Whinnies reviews
Excellent once again but a couple of things I would like noted. Some washing in washing machine when we arrived. No kindling in log bucket. Back door handle requires attention. Overall, very good and we will hopefully return soon.
    Mr Johnston - January 2019
We recently celebrated a Family Reunion here at The Whinnies and couldn't have wished for a nicer house, gorgeous garden, beautiful outlook and location. Nicola was so kind and helpful in answering any queries and we found The Whinnies not only to be comfortable and fulfilling our expectations, but it is equipped over and beyond Our family consisted of visitors from Australia, England, South Africa, Romania, Canada and Scotland.......we couldn't have asked for a better venue and "service" We have made precious memories here which will last forever!
    Mrs Lynch - June 2018
Great cottage for a large group.we had no hot water on the first night, however we did not need it.Once we reported it, it was sorted out first thing the net day, plenty hot water for our group of 12. Great setting.
    Miss Burness - May 2018
Our large family meet up every year at Eastertime in different areas of Scotland The Whinnies was central for us all to converge and with good bus and train links, our students in the family managed to take a few days off too . The area was great for short and longer walks for the Labrador We visited Scone Palace , Stanley Millls ,Dunkeld bird reserve also had a very interesting visit to the Fair Maids House 17-19 NORTH PORT PERTH the RSGS-[Scottish geog society ]It was free ,friendly and informative
    Mrs Simpson - April 2018
Lovely home, spacious and really well equipped. The house features a lovely big garden with a beautiful view of the Tay, and is convenient for access to and from Perth.
    Mr Devenney - February 2018
Fantastic, spacise house with lots of character. Our large group of friends enjoyed the weekend stay with plenty of space and rooms. We were able to take our two dogs with us who loved running around the amazing large garden! Get decor, great views, bbq on decking in a lovely location. We hope to visit again next year! :)
    Miss Finlayson - October 2017
We had a fantastic 3 generation family holiday based at the Whinnies. The house is furnished with quality and enough of everything for everyone the garden space, view & equipment are fantastic for a summer holiday. The location is ideal for access to the wonders of Perthshire & very near to Perth & shops. If we could have changed anything we would have moved it all another half mile along the lovely lane perfect for doggy walks to provide perfect country silence due to the nearby main road, which in no way detracts from the location or house and is not noticeable when in the house it didn't spoil a lovely holiday. We would recommend it & would love to return sometime.
    Mrs Hagri - September 2017
We had a full house for my son's wedding - and the house coped well with the demands of everyone getting ready, two on-suite bathrooms and two additional bathrooms made a big difference. With it being a relatively modern house, we had some concerns that it might be a little cramped when booking the property - but it is deceptively spacious inside, and it never felt crowded. Beautiful location overlooking the river. Ideally situated for Perth, Dundee and Dunkeld, it makes a good base to explore the area from. One of the best properties we have stayed in over the years.
    Mr Burgess - May 2017
We had a lovely stay at The Whinnies. The house is an excellent size for a big group and all the bedrooms were lovely. The living areas were also big enough for us all to eat and relax together which was great. Fantastic outdoor area as well and a great location. Would definitely stay again.
    Mrs Webb - April 2017
Staying at The Whinnies for the easter weekend was overall a great stay, the house is a great size for multiple people, the view is fantastic from the rear decking & there was room for all our cars to park. A well equipped kitchen, lots of bed space & a pleasant owner all made this stay perfect for us. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
    Mr Gibson - April 2017
We were delighted with our stay. The house is ideally place for a trip to Perth (taxi is less than £10) and the short walk into luncarty was pleasant on a frosty morning. All the bedrooms were clean and very comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. The roaring log fire helped keep us cosy. Would definitely visit again.
    Mrs Gowans - November 2016
We had a brilliant time in this lovely cottage ideally situated for Perth, Dunkeld, Pitlochry and House of Bruar. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. We really enjoyed Reids bistro in Perth and cafe Kisa in Auchterarder. We hope to return next year. Thanks for a fantastic break
    Mrs Ross - October 2016
Great location with beautiful views. Go for a walk in the morning you'll see birds and bunnies clearing the path for you. 10 min walk to the river through fields, shopping just 5 min drive. Plenty of places to visit within 30 min drive. The house it self got all the facilities but I would say to the owners please think about a little upgrade. But it didn't really bother us from having a great time. Great place for families with children or only grown ups to relax.
    Mrs Ramb - July 2016
Fantastic huge garden with massive decking overlooking the river and local railway line (no noise) feels so remote and peaceful but 200 yards from the dual carriageway and 10 mins from Perth where there are great shopping opportunities ASDA, Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, Morrisons and more. Well equipped huge house with comfortable beds. Ample parking for 4 maybe even 5 cars. Plenty of hot water (despite what previous reviews have said). Well located for travel throughout the region and highly recommended. Suitable for large families or groups with enough space for privacy if you need it. One issue is the sofas in the main room are getting a bit tired but don't let that put you off.
    Mr Dawson - July 2016
We enjoyed the house very much, it was both spacious and confortable, we had everything we needed. We appreciated all the space as they were eleven of us! and we made great use of the terrace as the weather was so gorgeous. Our teenagers also made the most of the garden by playing some football! We found the laundry room very useful too. The heating was also working very well, so all we have to say is very positive.
    Mr Xavier - April 2016
Cannot fault the place. The house is well stocked, decorated and definitely has a homely feel to it. There was even a Christmas tree, lights and decorations which fitted in perfected with our crowd and occasion. Access was easy, plenty storage space in all rooms, and the fireplace is handy. Brilliant views out to the river as well and the location is good since it's 5 minutes drive from Perth but isolated enough to feel away from it all if you choose. Would recommend.
    Mr Arthur - December 2014
Everyone who stayed was impressed by the property, the photos didn't do the place justice. Only one detail that the owners should put on the website is parking availability, as the road is single track and parking for all the vehicles was tight. Excellent weekend and some of my friends have enquired about renting it again.
Owners Response: "Many thanks, glad you enjoyed your stay. With regard to parking, the drive can comfortably accommodate four vehicles and there is also a large garage for a fifth which has proved, to date, to be sufficient for most guests. We will make sure that that is made clear to guests in the future."
    Mr Mathieson - June 2014
Great clean accommodation that was flexible to allow 2 families and a grandfather coexist without getting in each others way. Very good restaurants (value for family wise) close by. Tesco and Asda supermarkets only 2.5 miles from house. Views over the Tay and wildlife were grand. Good centre for exploring Perthshire.
    Mr Ransley - October 2013
10 30 somethings and a 3 month old had a great time at the Whinnies over Hogmanay. The house itself was lovely with all the equipment and facilities we required, plenty of parking and occasional visits from a friendly neighbouring dog. The views from the lounge and bedrooms down over the River Tay are gorgeous. There are plenty of walking routes and only a 15 minute walk in to the village of Luncarty where you'll find the village pub. An excellent base to explore nearby attractions such as Perth, Falkirk Wheel and Stirling Castle. I'd have no hesitation in recommending The Whinnies.
    Miss Morin - December 2012
This is a large home that seems like it was built in the 2000s. It's a great location to travel on day trips around central Scotland. The only issue is that it seems to be wearing a little thin. The refrigerator needs an update and the dishwasher needs some repairs. The bathroom downstairs clogged and the ones upstairs had problems too. None of it was terrible but it just seems like it could use a bit of an update. It's great in that they take dogs, and it has a fenced in yard which is terrific for kids and small children. The major issue is that you only get hot water for about 5 hours aday. From 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM and then from 5:30 to 8:30, so you really have to plan your showers, laundry, dishwasher routines or you won't have enough hot water for 11 people, dishes, and laundry. Other than that, there's a Tesco near by, it's right off a main road, but not terribly noisy, you can see the river and it's got lovely landscaping and decor.
    Kistler - August 2012
The first imression is of a refressingly new, modern and well fitted lodge. Ample colourful bedrooms and bedding. A large verandah deck with outdoor setting and substantial grounds. The views are excellent and the property is located some distance from others. We obtained all supplies from the large Tesco Supermart which was approx 10 mins drive. The motorway is nearby and can be heard when outside but not annoying it was not noticable when inside. Our family group thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Whinnings.
    Mr Buchanan - July 2012
We had a superb stay at The Whinnies. The facilities were superb, fully catered to all that was promised. Spectacular views. Could not fault this property and we would love to go back. Thank you again for a wonderful comfortably stay. Highly recommend to anyone.
    Miss Turner - April 2012
