Property code: CA390

Sleeping six guests across three bedrooms, this charming house has space for everyone to relax in after a day exploring the Highland countryside, perfect for a small party of family or friends. For evenings out together, there is an inn only 0.5 miles away, by the shore of Loch Gairloch. The interior of the house is bright and homely, making the most of the stunning views with dual aspect windows in the living areas looking across to the mountains and down to the harbour.

When you return to the property, remove coats and shoes and put anything in need of a clean in the handy utility room. Prepare a hearty meal in the kitchen/diner, where the whole party can sit round the table and enjoy local produce. Throw a log on the lounge’s open fire and curl up on the sofas to watch a film. A spacious room for socialising, the lounge also has a second, smaller, table and chairs, ideal for planning the days ahead. On the ground floor you will find a double bedroom and also a shower room with WC and utility room. Heading upstairs you will find three bedrooms, bright and elegantly decorated. One of the doubles has an en-suite shower, while the second double and the twin have the use of the bathroom, where you can unwind and soothe tired limbs in a hot bath after a day hitting the trails. Settle in for a good night’s sleep to wake refreshed and rested the next morning.

Outside the enclosed garden is made up of a large sloping lawn at the front of the house, while there is a decked area at the back. Dine alfresco when the evenings are warm, then sit out with a dram and simply enjoy each other’s company amidst the peace and privacy.

Badachro is a historic Highlands fishing village, once renowned for its cod fishing. Today’s catch is more likely to be lobster, prawns and crabs, while the coastal village has also become popular for its outdoor pursuits. Thanks to its location on a sheltered inlet, this is a great spot to hop in a boat and potter around on the water, though if you prefer to stick to dry land, there are gorgeous walks from the village, around the loch or up into the hills and mountains. The area is magical for wildlife, with excellent birdwatching opportunities and some superb marine creatures splashing in the swell, including whales, dolphins, porpoises and seals. There are wildlife cruises from nearby Gairloch (6.5 miles), which also offers a selection of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. You can also pick up the North Coast 500 coastal route from here, which links many Highland sites including the village’s own distillery.

Very warm and comfortable cottage with lots of space, lovely garden and brilliant location for exploring some of the most scenic parts of Scotland. The views from the house are wonderful. We heard the stag bellowing at night and the stars were incredible. We would recommend the wildlife tours run by Ian from gairloch Harbour. The butcher in Strath Read moreand the gairloch farm and garden stores shop has wonderful local produce. We will likely be back and soon Hide

We had a very comfortable stay at Torridon Sunrise. The house was very spacious with beautiful views from the upstairs windows. Beds were also very comfortable. We enjoyed the large open plan kitchen/ dining area which was well equipped. All the baby equipment was also very useful.

Beautiful cottage in breathtaking scenery. Very well furnished & a very reasonable price. Quiet surroundings with the lovely Badachro Inn & Shieldaig Hotel nearby. Plenty to do in area from boat cruises to falconry experiences, or opt to sit back in the garden & soak up the views. Would definitely recommend a stay here.
