Ideal for a therapeutic family beach holiday or writing your book. This luxuriously renovated farmhouse, sleeping up to eight, boasts an ever-changing panoramic view over the sea - from Campbeltown in the west to the Ayrshire coast in the east and at night, the stars!

Immediately below the house is a spectacular sandy beach. Squadrons of oyster catchers call as they sweep along the shore-line and there is always the chance of sighting of an otter, seal or a meandering basking shark in these timeless surroundings.

Hot water and under-floor heating throughout are provided by an air-source heat exchanger to minimise our carbon footprint. A gas feature fireplace in the first floor Sitting Room brings intimacy and added warmth to an evening with friends and family or a good book.

To assist in accommodating larger parties, family re-unions, etc. why not consider taking Kilbride Farmhouse as well. It is only a few minutes up the road.

    Torrlinn Beach House reviews
    Situated down a track, this lovely spacious, beach house sits isolated with beautiful views of Ailsa Craig. The house was warm and well equipped and had everything we needed although spare bin bags would be handy as you don't know bin sizes beforehand.There was plenty of hot water which had been a problem in our previous 2011 visit. We had a lovely meal at the Lagg hotel, which can be easily accessed along a track at the front of the house. Two of our party enjoyed coffee and cake at the Velo cafe next door to the Lagg. Plenty of walks are within close distance -we did the Kings Caves, Machrie standing stones and walked to the Kildonan hotel along the shore which was a bit hairy at one point (check tide times) but we were rewarded by seeing seals and had refreshments in the refurbished bar, catching the bus back. Also walked to the new Lagg distillery-an impressive building and enjoyed the sampling. Due to the situation of the house and Kilmory, be sure to take enough food and supplies, as the nearest small shop and butchers is at Blackwaterfoot a 16-20 min drive. As said previously, we visited in 2011 and there are some wear and tear issues-some damp around windows and two rings on the hob didn't work but for us this wasn't an issue. Although the comprehensive, suggested cleaning jobs for a 10am departure was excessive? We did strip beds, vacuum, leave kitchen tidy, empty bins and wipe over the bathrooms but mopping?
