This appealing, newly-built holiday home, bordered by a traditional working farm, enjoys a tranquil position down a country road just 2 miles from the historic and picturesque market town of Moffat.

Comfortably sleeping up to six guests in two double, and one twin, bedrooms, this inviting bungalow is an excellent destination for a relaxed self-catering holiday. The bright and spacious open-plan living room, with its well-equipped kitchen, large dining table and comfy seating creates the heart of the cottage and is the ideal place for family and friends to gather and spend holiday time together. French doors open on to a patio allowing you to make the most of the beautiful surrounding scenery and clear nights can be spent stargazing, with Moffat being Europe’s very first Dark Sky Town.

The local conservation town of Moffat, with its famous double high street and 19th Century architecture, is full of character and has a variety of interesting shops, traditional hotels, atmospheric pubs and cafes to discover if you fancy a meal or drink out. Wee Hartfell Cottage is the perfect base from which to explore this beautiful part of Dumfries and Galloway as well as the adjoining Scottish Borders. Being located in the heart of Southern Scotland it possible to plan day trips in all directions. Both Glasgow and Edinburgh can be reached in within an hour and Carlisle is just forty minutes to the south.

The gentle rolling hills and moorland are paradise for walkers. There are remote lochs and winding rivers to be discovered in this beautiful landscape as well as an abundance of wildlife. The nearby magnificent 60 metre cascading waterfall, known at The Grey Mare’s tail, is one of Scotland’s finest and the walk up to Loch Skeen is listed as one of Britain’s best. Whether you're looking for a quiet, relaxing break, or an action packed family holiday, there is plenty to see and do in and around Moffat.
