Set in the quiet countryside just a few miles from the Speyside town of Aberlour, Woodburn Cottage is the perfect retreat for families looking for a base from which numerous activities and sights are just a short drive away. The cottage has a traditional homely feel throughout, which is sure to appeal to many. The kitchen contains a large table which is great for busy breakfasts, where the family can sit together and chat about what’s in store for the rest of the day. The sitting room is cosy and has the added bonus of a wood burning stove, so snuggle up in the evenings with a glass of your favourite tipple and watch a DVD in front of the warm glow of the fire – bliss! Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and have been decorated and furnished to a modern standard that is still in-keeping with the traditional feel of the cottage. There is also a bedroom on the ground floor, making this property suitable for those with limited mobility.

This really is a fantastic base from which to explore everything Speyside has to offer. Both the dolphin coast and the Lecht ski centre are just a half hour drive away from the cottage, and slightly further afield are the Cairngorm Mountains. Keen walkers can climb the nearby Ben Rinnes and Ben Aigan Mountains which offer the most beautiful views of Speyside. For those looking to take life at a slower pace during their holiday, then there are numerous golf courses, distilleries and castles in the area that are well worth a visit.

You can watch our walk through video tour at Woodburn Cottage here.

    Woodburn Cottage reviews
Cosy, nice and tidy cottage with a warm welcome from the very nice owner. Towels, linens included. Hopefully again return in some years. Thanks a lot for all, Liz!

This cozy cottage was a great place for us to stay while exploring Elgin County. We have ancestral roots in this area, and were finding the graveyard and settlement area. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, with a large, well appointed kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook your own meals. Lots of small details are attended to hear, and we could pretty much just buy our food and drinks, every other need was provided. The dining room is a nice size for six to eight people, and so is the living room. Each of the three bedrooms had a comfortable double bed in each. There was a full bathroom and a half bathroom. It is on a quiet country lane, and we enjoyed that. The owner contacted us after we booked, and again before we arrived, giving us the info to find the place and tell us what to expect. It was a great little home for a few days and very reasonable.

The cottage was quaint and cozy, and there was information provided about the cottage history. We really enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings after a day of sightseeing. There is a washing machine but we never used it since there is no dryer and the typical Scottish weather in mMay was not conducive to hang-drying!
