With its spectacular views across the bay towards Holy Isle, there are few more idyllic locations on Arran than that occupied by Woodside. Just a stone’s throw from the beach and only a short stroll into the centre of the village, this large and comfortable family home offers the perfect base from which to explore all of the island.

Woodside has undergone a significant ‘refresh’ during 2017. Completely redecorated both inside and out, with many rooms refurnished or with new soft furnishings, the house now has a bright, airy and altogether more contemporary feel. The newly fitted kitchen is well-equipped and gives the open plan living and dining area a light and spacious feeling. South facing windows make the most of the natural light as well as uninterrupted panoramic views to the Holy Isle. The sunny patio is the perfect spot  to sit and have a morning coffee or perhaps a glass of wine before supper in the evening, watching the ever-changing colours of the sea and sky.

The house itself is situated along the shorefront, sheltered by palm trees, and with easy access to the marina. Ideally suited to families, Woodside boasts not only a pool table but also two large gardens both front and rear, which allow visitors to take advantage of the sun all day. All of the rooms at the front of the house benefit from the wonderful views out to sea and guests will be able to enjoy spectacular sunrises, as well as pass the time watching the boats sailing into Lamlash Bay, enjoy the frequent sightings of herons and seals or even be lucky enough to spot a pod of dolphins or porpoise. The house will appeal to those wishing to relax in a peaceful haven with unrivalled views and beach access.

Located just 3 miles from Brodick and with very easy to access all that the Isle of Arran has to offer, Woodside offers the ideal location to base your holiday. From beaches, scenery, wildlife and walks, to the numerous historical site, as well as the mountains and distillery in the north. There is also a golf course in Lamlash a short walk away, as well as an outdoor activity centre offering pursuits such as sea kayaking and canoeing.

For those looking for a more leisurely stay, Brodick, Lamlash and Whiting Bay have a wide range of gift shops, galleries, restaurants and specialist food shops and there are beaches all round the island, particularly in the south and west. There is also a supermarket in Lamlash just a short walk from the house, as well as numerous tearooms, restaurants and coffee shops.

Lovely setting, great accommodation, we knew about the open area outside so we were pre prepared regarding our 2 dogs. Our 8 mth old Golden Retriever and old Black Lab lady didn’t give us any problems. Had lovely meals at the Drift Inn and the Pierhead Tavern and the Glen Isle, didn’t make it to the Bay Hotel. Need to go for longer next time.
    Mr Mcallister - June 2019
Overall we had an excellent time at Woodside, helped by some very good weather while the rest of the UK was being drowned!. It is in a delightful position and the view over the bay to Holy Island is in our opinion unbeatable. The house was clean and tidy and in good condition. The pool table is a great added bonus. There were only 2 of us, so we can't comment on how the property works for larger groups, but it was fine for us. We have two negative comments - the towels are not of great quality which let the rest of the house down a bit, and the dishwasher didn't work and the housekeeper was unable to help us ot get it going over the phone.
    Mr Scoles - June 2019
Husband and I loved the island and lamlash and Woodside a perfect location and lovely property Lochranza not to be missed beautiful as was drive around the island we were lucky with really sunny weather Son and daughter however gutted phone communication not every minute of every day plenty of internet access but as not on tap their life ends SO WOULD GO AGAIN WITHOUT THEM!!!!
    Mrs Barrett - April 2019
Fabulous location with a great view out over the Holy Isle. We were on Arran for the Ultra Run and this offered perfect accommodation across a long w/e. We were particularly pleased that the owner agreed to us having less than a week's stay given that it was the weekend before Easter and also the speedy return of our deposit - thank you. The accommodation is fully equipped and if you need to, Lamlash is only a few minutes walk away. Whilst we were there for a specific event, this accommodation is an ideal base from which to tour the island.
    Mr Topping - April 2019
Can't fault the view! Lovely to sit in bed and see eider ducks and red breasted mergansers swimming around. A spacious property with comfy beds. Heaters worked well upstairs and in the games room but it took a few days for the kitchen and lounge to heat up, hence the 4 stars and not 5. Wouldn't stop us staying here again though. Pricey but a lovely experience had.
Mr And Mrs Pountney - February 2019
Comfortable house enjoyed proximity to beach concerned initially about heating as it was January but heaters were efficient only comment is the fridge was rather small
    Mrs Williams - January 2019
We stayed at Woodside over new year time and had a fabulous holiday. The cottage is so comfortable, cosy and clean. It is also very well equipped with everything you might need from light bulbs to dishwasher tablets. The location is great being right near the beach and easy walking to the pub and well stocked supermarket. The views from the house are amazing. We had fabulous weather while there so got out and about on many of Arran's great walks. Also the WIFI was great, the pool room was great and everything about it was great. Definitely the best holiday cottage we've ever rented.
    Mrs Henderson - December 2018
We have visited Arran on numerous occasions but have never stayed in Lamlash. The house was fab and very spacious and what a view ! Our teenage boys also liked having the pool table even played their 80 year old gran ! It was great having dog friendly eating places within walking distance. We all had really nice meals in Lamlash Bay Hotel and Pierhead Tavern. Also great having beach just across the road for the dogs. One negative garden wasn't enclosed at all and had to constantly keep an eye on dogs as they could access next door and also main road. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
    Mrs Mcmanus - September 2018
Woodside is a very comfortable property in a very nice , peaceful location. It is easily accessible to local shops etc. Woodside is perfect as base for the rest of the Isle of Arran .
    Mr Devlin - September 2018
Amazing location with a wonderful view of Holy Isle and the Firth Of Clyde. Very well equipped house with large kitchen and everything we needed for our stay. The layout of the house was really good for us and our small children. Lamlash great area and we particularly enjoyed the food at The Drift Inn and going to the children's play area.
Mr And Mrs Stubbs - April 2018
Woodside is even better this year. Redecorated and better equipped, home from home. Ideally situated to appreciate all Arran has to offer.
    Mrs Lipsett - June 2017
Although the property sleeps 7, there was only my wife and me living there. My daughter was married in Lamlash during our stay with the extended family and friend staying nearby. We made full use of the facilities especially the " pool table with a view". The house was very well equipped and Evelyn, the caretaker was very attentive. A new kitchen had just been fitted so there photos are probably not yet updated. My daughter and the bridesmaids left with me from the house, so it will retain very special memories for everyone.
    Mr Grier - April 2017
We loved our stay at Woodside , views amazing , very comfortable home , have to point out that the beds and pillows were all so very comfortable as I'm very funny about pillows etc , great location. Our kids loved the pool table . We look forward to visiting again soon
    Ms Grieve - April 2017
We had a lovely week at Woodside in February. Our group of six (plus one border collie dog) ranged in age from eight to eighty and we all loved the house. We arrived on the most beautiful if freezing cold, February afternoon. Everyone just loved the views of HolyIsle from the large windows, the house felt very homely and we all settled in very quickly. Waking up to the view from the front bedrooms was a real treat. We found the beds very comfortable, and slept extremely well, probably helped by long walks and the sea air. The house was very clean and really well equipped. The games room was great we had some really good of pool, enjoyed by all. Arran itself is a beautiful island which we thoroughly enjoyed especially the wildlife, the Red Deer were in large numbers on the hillsides, and we saw lots of grey seals. Lamlash is a lovely village and Woodside is within easy walking distance for all the amenities. We had a couple of very tasty meals with lovely service at the Lamlash Bay hotel. Also had some really enjoyable lunch stops at the Corrie tea room by the golf course, the homemade lemon cake comes highly recommended. The views of the snow capped hills from the golf course were stunning. In fact we enjoyed our holiday so much we have already booked Woodside for the same week next year.
    Mrs Hastie - February 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is beautifully located facing the sea and Lamlash is a lovely little town with adequate shops and pubs for your needs. The house was very clean and comfortable, maybe an extra tv in the lounge with the snooker table would be a good idea for the children. We had a couple of meals out, one in The Drift Inn which was first class and with friendly staff. We hired bikes, went swimming in nearby Achrannie Hotel and Spa and went pony trekking, in all we had a great holiday.
    Mrs Macaskill - October 2016
Three generations of our family, including two babies, enjoyed a week here. The terrace and garden with superb views were much appreciated in the sunny moments, and the beach is just across the road. The garden cannot be closed off at the gateway onto the road, which prevented us letting the dog off the lead. The shops and restaurants of Lamlash are a convenient short walk from the house. Having a room with a pool table (with view) provided an excellent pastime for the men when not playing the great variety of golf courses within easy reach. Lamlash is very well-situated for travel by car to all the great attractions of the Isle of Arran. Public rooms are roomy and conveniently laid out, and again have the lovely view. The kitchen would benefit from updating, but fulfilled all necessary functions. Sinks in the bedrooms were much appreciated, as there is only one bath/shower room. The bedrooms were attractive, beds comfortable, but the coombs on all upstairs rooms including the landing were a head-banging hazard, and might present a problem to guests with limited vision or ability to duck. Heating and hot water were well explained and freely available, as was wifi etc.
    Mrs Kaye - September 2016
Whilst location was superb the house is in need of a refresh. The house was spotless but the kitchen and general decor was not up to the standard we've come to expect for that price.
    Mr Baxter - August 2016
Had a wonderful week at Woodside. The house was very quiet, comfortable and well equipped and even better than the photos. We were exceptionally lucky and had a full week of sunny weather. We normally eat out every night on holiday but instead stocked up at the local Co op which isn't far away and ate al fresco, it seemed a shame not to make the most of the lovely view from the patio. Watching the various boats come and go (amongst which a replica Viking boat, tall ship and a big fancy yacht, lovely when all lit up at night). We did get an Indian takeaway one evening which is just at the other end of the village. There are nice walks in the area if you have a dog and it's possible to just wander along the sea front right from the house, in both directions. Lamlash is the perfect village to stay in Arran (I've stayed in many of them in the past). Just a few minutes from Brodick and Whiting Bay, and easy to get up to Lochranza where you can get the ferry over to Kintyre, which makes a lovely day out. The weather was so good we spent most of our time on the beach and in the sea in Lamlash (the best swimming spot is opposite the church where there's a tree trunk you can sit on on the beach). If you have a dog they're allowed in the Pierhead Inn and the cafe just along the road by the pier. If you're a golf player I would recommend Corrie golfcourse, quite possibly the most beautiful one in the whole of Britain! We would definitely stay here again.
    Mrs Eastham - June 2016
Very well equipped and comfortable. Perfect setting. Rugs need removing as they are dangerous.
    Mrs Lipsett - April 2016
We enjoyed the whole experience of the house by the water, Lamlash ,the beautiful setting and good restaurants . The island of Arran is a wonderful place to be. Our time was not long enough. The weather with the wonderful sunrise and sunsets are indiscrible.
    Mrs Pollock - April 2016
A very comfortable residence with new carpets and an extra room with pool table. The caretaker/cleaner was very helpful and co-operative. The open plan nature of the downstairs caused problems as the kettle noise or washing machines make the tv inaudible. If sliding doors were fitted beyond the dining table this problem could be eliminated. We would also suggest a tv in the games room so that alternative viewing is available to groups. This is not a criticism but hopefully a useful observation to improve the experience of future clients. WE would certainly book it again. Sincerely P B Cooney
    Mr Cooney - March 2016
Woodside was the perfect location to celebrate my birthday. I am originally from Lamlash and wanted to have a reunion party with my family close to where I was born and where my family still live. The house itself was clean, spacious, open and airy. And the view was exactly what I love about Lamlash.  The children loved playing out on the lawn.
    Mrs Angel - April 2015
