Situated right by the shores of Rascarrel Bay, this idyllic lodge is located in a quiet and peaceful part of Scotland, perfect for a couples’ retreat. Here you can spend hours wandering along the rugged coastline of the Solway Firth, and exploring the rich culture and endless wildlife that the area has to offer.

This luxury lodge has been beautifully designed, from the warm wooden cladding to the perfectly appointed interior. Furnished in a classic seaside cabin style, as well as being fully equipped to suit the needs of modern living, this five-star accommodation is the perfect place to relax and appreciate the incredible surroundings. Floor to ceiling windows let the light stream in, making this home fresh and bright, while providing panoramic views of the private bay.

In traditional cabin style, the lounge, kitchen and diner follow an open-plan layout to create a welcoming and spacious area. Decorated with gentle fabrics, comfortable sofas and a TV, you can spend evenings in watching a film. Fully equipped for all of your cooking needs, the contemporary bespoke kitchen is a great space for unleashing your inner chef. The breakfast bar is ideal for casual meals while the dining table accompanied by lovely seaside scenery through the French doors is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner for two. All set on one level, the bedroom is situated through the hallway. This lovingly decorated king-size bedroom is a cosy space and ensures a peaceful sleep after a day in the fresh sea air. Contemporary and stylish, the bathroom boasts a shower and a freestanding bath.

Step outside onto the fully enclosed patio with tranquil views across the bay. Watch the sunrise from the covered seating on the decked area or admire the sunset while dining alfresco to the sound of the waves. Take a dip in the private hot tub under the stars for the perfect end to your day. You’ll find ample off-road parking on the private drive to the side of the lodge.

The local village of Dundrennan is 6 miles away and is most notable for its ruins of Dundrennan Abbey, a 12th-century monastery. Here you'll also find a shop for your convenience. Just 10 miles away from Rascarrel lies Castle Douglas, a lovely town well-known for its excellent eateries, local markets and fresh produce. It is also home to a broad selection of independent shops. Carlingwark Loch, dotted with small islands, is situated beside Castle Douglas and provides a great opportunity for romantic picnics, or even boating. At the far end of the loch sits the National Trust property Threave Garden and Estate which boasts picturesque grounds that are delightful to walk through all year round.

Further afield from Rascarrel, situated about 27 miles away, lies Galloway Forest Park. This incredible location offers serene lochs and miles of forested glens, as well as some of the highest hills in southern Scotland. However, the most impressive part is that this Forest Park is the first in the UK to be honoured with a Dark Sky Park status, meaning that the view of the stars is truly spectacular and well worth a visit.
