This exciting Scottish gem is a luxury property sitting in a private, secluded location on the shores of Rascarrel Bay. Relax and switch off from everyday life on your own decked balcony complete with hot tub, where you can soak in the fine, Highland air and then retire to the beautiful rooms inside the lodge.

 

The property is one of nine lodges and sits in an elevated position on the bank of the bay. Its architecture is stunningly designed to make the most of the light, views, and sloping coastline. The decor is contemporary and chic, with calming colours and details that will make your stay feel super indulgent.

 

Head into the lodge to find yourself in the spacious open-plan living space, a delightfully light and inviting room combining kitchen, dining area and lounge. The lounge is relaxing and cosy, with vast windows and French doors opening out onto the balcony, bringing the coastal landscape right into the room with you. The kitchen is a smart space, with a neighbouring dining table where you can enjoy romantic meals together. Head through into your bedroom, a luxurious space with sumptuous king-size bed, relaxing natural decor, and an en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower and a double handbasin.

 

You can head out from the bedroom straight onto the decked balcony, on which sits your special treat, the hot tub. Soak in the fresh air, stargaze in the clear night sky, or simply listen to the sounds of the waves breaking in the bay.

  • 1 dog allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £150 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £20. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

The area around the lodge is a feast for adventurers and relaxation-seekers alike. Head off for a scenic stroll along the Solway Firth beginning at your very own Rascarrel Bay. There are walks to enjoy on the estate surrounding the property, or make your own trail along the winding coastline.

Head on a day trip to Colvend, 16.5 miles away, where you'll find a lovely golf course for a leisurely round nestled beside the coast, the Bainloch Deer Park where you can spy on these amazing local creatures, or discover the Mote of Mark, an ancient hillfort with a mysterious and spooky history.

To pick up some supplies or enjoy a meal out, head to the rural village of Auchencairn. It's a lovely 3-mile walk away. Or for more town life, head to Castle Douglas, 11 miles inland. Castle Douglas is a pretty place to roam and take in the unique culture of Dumfries and Galloway. Visit Threave Castle, which sits on a grassy island within a loop of the River Dee. It is home to a family of peregrine falcons which nest on its ruined roof.

Very nice lodges, want for nothing really. Safe for your dog. The hot tub is very good. All in all, we will be going back sometime soon.

We would give this cottage an excellent on everything, the kitchen was supplied with everything needed and the chocolate, fudge, bottle of water and wine were a lovely touch. We would definitely book again and would recommend to our friends.

We had a midweek break in lodge 2, a very relaxed and quiet break looking out to sea. We would thoroughly recommend a visit as the lodge was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Great coastal walks with lots of wildlife to see.

Wow from the beginning of our holiday, the lodge was absolutely beautiful! What a lovely surprise of flowers, a bottle of wine biscuits for us and our dog. The lodge was spotless and very comfortable. We had a very relaxing stay. The view from the hot tub was amazing! We really didnt want to leave and are already looking to book up for next year.

We had a fantastic week and were talking about returning whilst we were still there! Great location, lovely coastline. The lodge was very clean, really good size and well appointed. Best lodge we have stayed in over the last few years.Very well equipped with everything you need.Furnishings,bedding,towels etc are of a high quality.Always love a dressing gown.The hot tub was perfect.As has been said before theres it's a wee bit remote so take all provisions.Would love to stay in the summer and enjoy the outdoor space more.

Just an amazing place to stay. Relaxing and away from it all - just pure heaven. The views and sunrises are wonderful, and the lodge is so cosy and homely. Our 2nd time visiting and we will definitely be back again.

Love these cottages! TBH this isn't for folks who want active holidays, there is walking, quiet and the sea which is just what I wanted. It is remote, so be prepared to drive as there are no supermarkets, shops, restaurants etc. Not a bad thing, just be prepared.

What a wonderful place to stay lodge 2 was. We were able to chill and relax and watch the wildlife, including deer, hare, rabbits, birds and a seal family.

Ideal situation for anyone wanting an away from it all break, if you dont mind the remoteness and a bit of a bumpy access road . The lodge is perfect, quiet, with spectacular views across the Solway Firth to Cumbria on a clear day. We even had a brief visit from a roe deer, just a few metres from the lodge. Visited twice last year, and once ( so fRead morear ! ) this year. We think that says it all, cant wait to return. Hide

Great location set in a beautiful rural location with access to walks and outstanding natural beauty nearby. The accommodation has everything you need and is ideally positioned next to the sea which provides a greta backdrop. The owners are great and available nearby should you need!

This stunning cottage was 5 star all the way. Very private, with everything you needed and some lovely touches. Flowers and sweets with wine on our arrival. Everything you could ever need and the view as good as the cottage. Will definitely be back
