This luxury top-floor apartment within a country house on a private 65-acre estate is the perfect place for families and friends to enjoy quality time together. With countryside views down to the River Don, you can immerse yourselves in the rural tranquillity and soak up the natural beauty of Aberdeenshire with long country walks or bike rides. Despite its peaceful, secluded position, you’re only 3.5 miles from the historic town of Inverurie, with its collection of independent shops and eateries. At the end of the day, return home to curl up in front of the wood burner, take a soak in the free-standing bath, or enjoy a game in the shared billiards room.

As a top-floor apartment, this property benefits from far-reaching views. A top-quality finish throughout makes this a special place to stay, with careful attention to detail and original features adding character and comfort.

Located in the west wing, head up the staircase from the courtyard to the second floor and enter the hall. From here, head into the light and airy open-plan living area. Whether you’re reclining on the sofa in front of the TV, playing a game of chess at the table or whisking up some treats in the kitchen, you can all luxuriate in each other’s company.

When it’s time to retire for the evening, head to one of the three beautifully presented bedrooms. The king-size has an exquisite en-suite complete with a free-standing bath and hand-held shower, whilst the two double rooms share the family shower room.

On the ground floor, guests have access to a shared utility room and billiards room.

Outside, you can explore the 65 acres of estate, which includes landscaped lawns, formal gardens and ancient woodland, with plenty of places to sit and soak up your surroundings.  Onsite wellbeing activities are available onsite including yoga and reflexology as well as Scottish native breed experiences.  Please refer to the need to know section of the webpage for further information

Known as the ‘Heart of the Garioch’, Inverurie is packed with history, which you can find out about in The Garioch Heritage Centre in the town itself. As you’d expect from this area of Scotland, there are many castles nearby, such as Disney-like Craigievar Castle (18.5 miles), or further afield, even the royal residence of Balmoral (43.5 miles). Only 5 miles from the town, you’ll find the site of a Roman battlefield, and an atmospheric East Aquhorthies Stone Circle is only 2.5 miles away.

Keen walkers will be spoilt for choice as the property is surrounded by unbridled countryside. The Bennachie Hills (9.5 miles) are particularly popular, with the Visitor Centre offering vital information about the forest and hills.

For a stark contrast to rural life, head to the coastal city of Aberdeen (19.5 miles) which boasts historical buildings, museums, galleries, shops and eateries. It also has its own beach, with stunning coastal walks and views. The coastline either side of Aberdeen is also worth exploring with far-reaching sea views, a range of links courses for golf enthusiasts and towns with beaches, shops and eateries. A little off the beaten track, Newburgh (20 miles) is one of these towns with a relatively untouched sandy beach backed by dunes, a golf course and some independent shops and cafes – well worth the drive.

One of the best places weve stayed and we were sad to leave, the owners have done amazing work to restore it to this level. Thankyou to you both and we hope to be back again.

An absolutely fantastic place to holiday at. The area is wonderful, the seal beach at Newburgh exquisite and trips into historic Aberdeen very easy. We were amazed at the hosts' welcoming and their house (you stay in the West Wing) is amazing. We will easily go again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manar house. We were in the Don View, the largest of the 3 apartments. Dean and his family were most welcoming, making out stay all the more enjoyable. It was a great base for us as we have family in the area. Would definitely visit again, either in the same suite, or in one of the two other suites, the Gordon and Read morethe Sutherland, if it was just the two of us. A lot of work has been done converting the west wing of the house into these three suites, worth a stay Hide

So much work has been put into renovating and modernising this beautiful house. The apartment is beautifully presented and incredibly comfortable; truly one of the best places we have stayed in. An hour from the Aberdeen Coast or the Cairngorms, the biggest challenge is deciding whether to go and explore or stay home and relax in luxury! The billiRead moreards room was an added bonus and much used during our stay. We will return! Hide
