This beautiful, light, and modern single-storey cottage is located on a farm in the stunning Easter Ross area of the Scottish Highlands. It’s the perfect luxury retreat for a small group of friends or family wanting to explore the coast and country of the Highlands. The cottage is in a peaceful location yet there are shops and a pub within 2 miles.

The stunning high-end home is warm and welcoming. It has a large communal living space with high ceilings and all three main rooms, the living space and both bedrooms, have patio doors out to the spacious south-facing patio with gorgeous countryside views. Both bedrooms provide flexibility and can be made up as super-king-size or twins.

Step into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with its high vaulted ceiling and a wood burner sitting against a stunning wood-panelled wall and large patio doors and windows looking out across the Highlands. There’s plenty of space to relax on the sofas in front of the wood burner and relax after a fun day out, a contemporary kitchen for preparing great scran and a dining table for four.

The two attractive bedrooms have plenty of space and benefit from large windows and patio doors outside – the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. There’s also a gorgeous shower room for everyone to use.

There’s one step down from the cottage to the large south-facing patio which enjoys unspoilt views of the rolling hills – enclosed so it’s safe for your furry friend and little ones. After an exciting day, get back and light up the BBQ and dine al fresco or enjoy an evening sipping drinks under the stars.

Sitting on a farm surrounded by countryside there is lots to see and do nearby. The nearest beach at Shandwick is 3 miles away, where you’ll find an unspoilt sandy bay, pretty coves, and coastal trails to explore with Shandwick and Balintore at either end of the beach. Head off to find the Mermaid of the North at Balintore, just 2 miles away. Fearn Abbey, which dates back to the 13th century, is about 500 metres from the cottage. Known as ‘The Lamp of the North’ it’s historically important as one of the oldest pre-Reformation Scottish churches that is still used today.

Easter Ross is on the NC500 (the North Coast 500 route) at the heart of the Pictish trail and you’ll find art, history and sculpture dating back to the 6th century locally. It’s also the perfect place for walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers and wildlife lovers. There are lots of routes of all lengths and levels of difficulty with breathtaking viewpoints, as well as historic market towns and villages in the local area.

The village of Alness (14 miles away) has a famously attractive high street which sits against a beautiful backdrop of the highlands near the Cromarty Firth. It’s home to Alness Civic and Heritage Centre and the Dalmore and Teaninich Distilleries. Walk up to the Fyrish Monument from Teaninich (15 miles) for awe-inspiring views of Cromarty Firth and Ben Wyvis.

We enjoyed our stay and the house was beautiful and so clean. It was very tastefully decorated had everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. The thoughtful welcome basket was a nice touch, as was the information on things to see and do in the area. Would recommend the cottage to anyone looking to stay in the area.

A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. A short drive away from the nearest town and also several villages by the sea. Very clean and a comfortable bed. There is a patio area with a lovely flower border. We found it perfect for us and our dog who was intrigued by the neighbours - highland cows!
