Situated in the Easter Ross area of the Highlands, this stunning property provides luxurious living with modern interiors, a wood burner, and a private patio. It’s in a beautiful location in the heart of the countryside with shops and the local pub less than 2 miles away. There are stunning walks and bike rides on tap, charming towns and villages, gorgeous wildlife, and the coast nearby, making it the perfect base for a large group to explore everything the area has to offer.

The luxury lodge, which sleeps ten, is bright, light, and airy with awesome views from every room. It has plush furnishings throughout to make sure you feel comfortable the moment you arrive. There are five individually styled bedrooms, five equally bathrooms, and a gorgeous lounge and kitchen you can gather in.

Leave your boots and jackets in the hall and head inside to the heart of the home, the kitchen. It’s been designed to be both practical and beautiful with a Range cooker, a large island to chat around and views across the rolling hills from the sliding doors. Separated from the kitchen by the wood burner is the lounge with deep comfy sofas to relax on with a good book and the fire on, watch the Smart TV, or play games sitting around the dining table together. Patio doors from the lounge lead outside with views across the garden. There’s also a utility room, a handy WC and one of the five bedrooms also on the ground floor – a spacious king-size room with floor-to-ceiling windows, modern furnishings, and an en-suite shower room.

The remaining four bedrooms and four bathrooms are on the first floor. Three of them are super-king-size bedrooms and can be made up as twins instead, and the fourth is a twin room. All the bedrooms have gorgeous views of the farm. You’ll also find three en-suite shower rooms and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath on this level.

Outside is a large, enclosed garden with a big lawn kids and canines will love running around with views across the open countryside and a large drive with parking for up to six cars. There’s also a patio with space for everyone to sit and enjoy a BBQ and a few drinks together or do a spot of stargazing after dark.

The house is one of a group of properties that sits within the grounds of a family farm on the NC500 route where you’ll find lots of walks, forest, and coastal trails to explore. For keen mountain bikers, the trails at Balblair (21 miles away) and the Highland Wildcat Trails at Golspie (24 miles away) are fantastic. The Wildcat Trails have the longest freeride descent in the UK. Golfers are spoilt for choice too with courses at Tain, Portmahomack, Alness, Invergordon, and Royal Dornoch, all of which are within 15 miles of the house.

Make sure you explore the beautiful Black Isle (23 miles away) during your stay. Despite its name, it’s actually a peninsula surrounded by water on three sides: the Cromarty Firth, the Beauly Firth, and the Moray Firth, and is home to a number of charming towns and villages. The Black Isle is also a wonderful place for spotting dolphins and grey seals in the Moray Firth and there are two RSPB nature reserves with beautiful birds and wildflowers on the peninsula.

Heading in the opposite direction, the town of Tain is 6 miles north and has a fascinating history as Scotland’s oldest royal burgh. There’s not one but two distilleries there, Balblair and famous Glenmorangie, both of which offer tours and tastings. The town also has a wee museum which tells the story of the Tain’s past through its fascinating collections.

A wonderful few days spent exploring the area. The house was beautiful with loads of space and we loved relaxing around the log burner in the evening playing games. Loads of lovely beaches to explore with the dogs and the children and all within easy driving distance.

Great House, furnished well and tastefully finished interiors. Lots of storage for all stuff. Lots of room for kids to run around. Beds were comfy and the house felt cosy all the time. The location is ideally suited to explore the Highlands. We had the most special time here and would definitely return.
