This traditionally and elegantly furnished cottage sits within the Killochan Castle Estate next to the River Girvan. It’s just 4 miles from the Ayrshire coast surrounded by beautiful scenery, on-site fishing, excellent walking, and golf courses. Sleeping eight guests in five bedrooms, it provides luxury accommodation for a group holiday, or a fishing or shooting party. It has a cosy wood burner, a garden with a patio, private parking for up to three cars, and there are local amenities within 4 miles.
The interiors of the restored bungalow were designed by Royal Warrant Holder Mikhail Pietranek who also styled Killochan Castle. Every room has been designed with great attention to detail. The interiors link to the bungalow’s location with plush soft furnishings and fabrics and classical antique furniture. The property is one of two cottages on the estate, in addition to the castle, and has stunning views across the river and countryside from several rooms.
Entering the house, you begin in the hallway and go on to the stunning lounge where there’s plenty of space and comfy seating for everyone to gather with an early evening drink and make plans for the next day. The lounge also features a Smart TV and a wood burner for relaxing evenings. It’s dotted with classic sporting and landscape paintings and rich traditional fabrics. The wall of windows ensures that the room is bright and light even on the most dreich of days and provides pretty countryside views.
Next to the lounge is the dining area, perfect for formal suppers. Along the hall is the kitchen and everything needed to cook up hearty meals plus another dining area for communal mealtimes. The five bedrooms are off the hallway. One of the two king-size rooms has a gorgeous wooden sleigh bed, a sofa, and a writing desk and chair, with plenty of storage as well as an en-suite. The traditional theme is carried through into the second king-size bedroom and the two cosy single rooms with traditional designs and antique furniture. There’s also a second bathroom for guests staying in these rooms to use.
Sitting within 143 acres of beautiful private Ayrshire countryside, the bungalow has a large garden with a lawn and a patio, and parking for up to three cars. Sit on the patio with a morning coffee or an evening drink while the children and canines enjoy the lawn. You can access the river from the garden, so please take care with children.
