This luxury four-bed holiday home is part of the sprawling Delnabo Estate, within the spectacular Cairngorms National Park. If you’re a nature and wildlife lover, you can’t get much better than this luscious natural spot, where species like red squirrels and roe deer roam. You won’t be far from civilisation, though, with Tomintoul – Scotland's highest village – 1.5 miles away, offering pubs and restaurants to explore.

A beautifully designed wooden cabin, this sweet accommodation is luxurious and welcoming inside. It blends modern opulence with a homely, country feel, with high-quality fittings and colour schemes that are pleasing to the eye. Vintage furniture, tasteful artwork and elegant wood panelling all add refinement to this gorgeous space.

All the rooms are on one floor, starting with the bonnie lounge where you can relax after busy days out in the fresh air, perhaps watching the latest episode of your favourite series on the Smart TV. If it’s a little cold and dreich, spark up the wood burner to create a cosy atmosphere. The country kitchen is fantastic for cooking up yummy dinners and preparing picnics for tomorrow, while the adjacent dining table sets you up for sociable family meals. You can also enjoy a moment of serenity in the front sun porch, equipped with comfortable seating – a perfect nook for reading or simply soaking in the views. The king-size bedroom, featuring tasteful decor and stylish furniture, invites you to relax after a day of Highland adventures. A second bedroom has twin beds, and there’s a spacious family bathroom with a pretty tile floor.

Outside, the enclosed garden space features additional seating where you can enjoy those breathtaking vistas and inhale the crisp mountain air. It's ideal for sitting and relaxing with morning coffee or watching the sun set with a glass of wine in hand.

Ski fans will no doubt make a beeline for the Lecht Ski Centre (7.5 miles) which offers 20 maintained ski runs, 14 lifts, two mountain bike trails and equipment hire. Even non-skiers can appreciate the local by taking a ride in the chairlift for an exhilarating way to absorb the wow-factor scenery.

Wonderful, well equipped cottage in a superb location overlooking the valley, ideal for walkers and mountain bikers and those wishing to escape the daily grind! Delnabo Estate have recently upgraded their cottages to a very high standard with, it would appear, no expense spared. We cannot recommend it more highly.

The host was friendly and helpful. The cottage is warm, very well equipped, including good quality bed linen, and comfortable. Set in the Delnabo estate, it gives easy access to the Cairngorms and is a reasonable and spectacular drive from Royal Deeside, whisky country and the small fishing villages which dot the Moray Firth.
