St Andrews is full of Scottish charm, with its narrow wynds and cobblestone roads. Take a stroll around the town, admiring its many historic buildings, including the fascinating ruins of the 12th-century cathedral and Scotland’s oldest university. The seaside town has a vibrant atmosphere and you’ll find a good range of coffee shops and restaurants, as well as independent shops and galleries to explore.

St Andrews is known as the ‘home of golf’ and has an impressive ten different courses in and around the town, including the world-famous Old Course. This course is open to the public and you can also take guided tours, to learn about all the iconic sporting moments that have taken place in St Andrews over the years.

West Sands Beach (3 miles) is widely considered one of the finest in Scotland, thanks to its breathtaking views and 2 miles of soft, white sand. You may recognise it from the opening scenes of Chariots of Fire! Spend the day here, building sandcastles and playing in the sea, or enjoy a long, relaxing stroll along the shoreline.

If the weather isn’t on your side, you’ll find plenty of indoor activities in St Andrews to keep everyone entertained, including the aquarium which hosts interactive demonstrations throughout the day and the museum which details the intriguing history of the town.

Lovely lodge in peaceful setting. Cosy and well appointed with generous welcome pack. All queries answered quickly. Hot tub was a bonus after wintry walking. Bring a torch for walking into town, lots of restaurants will deliver!
