The bustling town of St Andrews is 1.5 miles away, and has a good selection of independent eateries, as well as an impressive ten different golf courses to explore. Keen walkers can join the beautiful Fife Coastal Path, which passes close to the property.

The stylish lodge is arranged across one level and has been decorated in a contemporary style. The property is bright and airy and has fabulous, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out across open countryside. The lodge’s open-plan layout makes it a sociable holiday home for spending quality time together.

Enter the property into the spacious lounge/kitchen/diner. To the rear is a bespoke kitchen area, with everything you need for a self-catering break. Perch at the breakfast bar with a light snack or gather around the wooded dining table by the window for memorable mealtimes as a group. After dinner, unwind on the comfortable sofas to warm your toes by the electric fire and catch up on your favourite programmes on the Smart TV. When it’s time for bed, choose from two elegant super-king-size bedrooms, both of which can be made up as twins on request. One of the bedrooms has a stylish en-suite shower room, and there’s also a separate family bathroom with a free-standing bath. A handy utility room for storing coats and boots completes the accommodation.

Outside, soak up the sunshine on your private patio, which has outdoor furniture, a BBQ, and a luxurious hot tub. The area is enclosed for four-pawed guests. You are also invited to take a stroll around the surrounding grounds and visit the resident Shetland ponies.

• There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £200 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £25. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

St Andrews is a vibrant seaside town that’s bursting with Scottish charm. The town has many historic buildings, including the oldest university in Scotland and the evocative ruins of a 12th-century cathedral. Learn about the history of the town in the museum, which is set in a stunning Victorian mansion in Kinburn Park.

Keen golfers will be in their element in St Andrews, known as the ‘home of golf’. The town has a wide variety of courses to try, including the world-famous Old Course, 2 miles from the property.

St Andrews is a great base for walkers, thanks to the stunning Fife Coastal Path that passes through the town. The stretch between St Andrews and Lower Largo is one of the most picturesque of the whole route, taking you past dramatic sea stacks, historic harbour villages, and gorgeous sandy beaches.

For a day at the beach head down to West Sands (3 miles), where you’ll find almost 2 miles of soft, white sand backed by dunes. Even in the height of summer, it’s easy to find a quiet spot to set up camp on this vast beach.

Nearby family attractions include St Andrews Aquarium, where you can admire the sharks, piranhas, and seals and join in with the daily interactive demonstrations. Just outside the town is Craigtoun Country Park (5 miles), which has crazy golf, train rides, and a boating lake.
