Take in picturesque views of your Wester Ross surroundings from this modern cottage at Poolewe. Sleeping six guests, the three-bedroom retreat is the perfect place to unwind between excursions out into the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. Head back to its bright, warm accommodation to bask beside the wood burner or listen to the sound of the flowing river from the lovely garden.

Wander inside to find accommodation with an abundance of windows that frame the views and bring the natural light flooding in. Enjoy the warmth of the underfloor heating during the colder months and open the doors to bring the outside in when the weather is fine. Gather in the generous kitchen/diner to rustle up Scottish feasts, then congregate at the table for lively holiday meals. Find good films on the Smart TV and gather in the lounge for movie nights. Light the wood burner and savour its cosy glow. A useful utility room and a WC are also downstairs. When you are ready to retire for the night, your three enticing bedrooms await on the first floor. These include a king-size, with an en-suite shower room, a double, with a Juliet balcony and river views, and a twin. The family bathroom is also here. Spill out into the sunny garden on warm days. Let the children and any four-legged friends race on the lawn, keeping an eye on them because of the river. Dine outside as often as possible to feel at one with nature. There is private, off-road parking for two cars.

Stroll 1 mile from the cottage to book a wildlife watching trip on Loch Ewe. Visit the National Trust for Scotland’s incredible Inverewe Garden, featuring plants from around the world, while you are here. Venture 6.5 miles to spend the day on beautiful Gairloch Beach.

The cottage was very well equipped , comfortable and the decor lovely. I particularly liked the beautiful curtains. The large, bright kitchen -diner with windows overlooking the birds swooping and darting over the river was appreciated by all the family, including our dog, Alys.
