A cosy little stone cottage on a secluded hillside in one of Scotland’s most treasured historic landscapes in the Argyll countryside. The cottage is surrounded by wildflower meadows and woodland and is perfectly placed for exploring the Crinan Canal and the sandy beaches, rugged glens and wild islands of Argyll. Despite all that, it’s not isolated, with shops and pubs within 3 miles and the Cairnbaan Hotel, where you can get a meal or drink, around a 1-mile walk along a footpath through the trees. Sleeping two with an extra fold-down bed, it’s ideal for romantic couples and small families who want to enjoy an active break with plenty of walking, nature-spotting and beach days.

The cottage is located half a mile down a private track, adjacent to the owner’s holiday cottage. Inside, it is light, bright and spacious with contemporary décor and high-quality furnishings. The windows make the most of the outstanding views. The cottage is all on one floor. In the entrance hall, there is space to hang wet coats and store muddy boots. This leads to a large open-plan split-level living area. The lounge/dining area has a stylish wood burner and a TV with sofas and armchairs for relaxing warm evenings. There is a dining table with space for several guests to dine in comfort. Three steps lead up to the kitchen area, with a slate floor and everything you’ll need for easy holiday cooking, with plenty of food prep space and a double oven and electric hob. There is a large twin bedroom and a fold-down bed. The large wet room has a waterfall shower.

Outside, there is a patio garden with furniture, the ideal place to relax and enjoy the views.

This is a well equiped cottage in a quiet location, yet accessible to the many historical and natural history sites of the Argyle Coast and hinterland. This was our second visit, and we may well return next year to spend more time in this interesting and attractive area.

Pretty cottage with a great shower and plenty of hot water- bit short on some necessary kitchen items but a nice place to stay if you like remote - found a circular walk very close to the cottage down via the canal which was great - about 3.5 miles

A spacious well equiped secluded comfortable and quiet cottage. A short drive from the main road on a track through woods takes you to a location where there are two properties. Semi remote and undisturbed. A place to get away from the mundane. Very helpful understanding and discrete owners.

This cottage is very isolated, and there is no WiFi ( this fact is buried deep in cottage description) Mobile phone coverage is very poor.

This cottage was a bit disappointing. It could do with some general maintenance. The view from the patio is great apart from the nearby electric pylons but Im not sure much can be done about that.

Amazing location - just what we wanted, we felt we were in the middle of nowhere but Lochgilphead was just around the corner. Even though there is another holiday let opposite (the only one) the main rooms faced away from it so we did not feel overlooked. We would have preferred there was wifi but we were able to use data.
