Beautiful spacious refurbished 1900 century lodge set on the Dunnet Estate with spectacular coastal views, perfect for families and friends holidays and celebrate special occasions together.

This superb, refurbished 19th-century property is situated in an enviable elevated position on Dunnet Head on the most northerly point of mainland Britain, set among 1,800 acres of moorland with breathtaking views over the bay and out over the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Islands. With nine bedrooms, this is the perfect generous property to gather the whole family or celebrate a special occasion with friends.

Retaining plenty of characterful original features such as wonderful high ceilings, gorgeous original fireplaces, cornice moulding and a large, open staircase, this enchanting nine-bedroom property has been sensitively renovated to maximise natural light, spacious interiors and all the home comforts needed to create the ultimate coastal sanctuary.

Pop your hiking boots in the marvellous grand entrance hall and head straight into the generous drawing room after a long day’s exploring to rest tired muscles on of one the traditional armchairs or sofas, and warm up cold toes in front of the beautiful open fire. If you can’t bare the fun to end just quite yet, head into the cinema room and catch the latest blockbuster on the large Smart TV or have a game of table tennis in the spacious cloakroom. There’s no better place to sit and contemplate the wonderful surrounding coastline than in the library, complete with ample French and English books. Cook up a storm with all the local produce you’ve foraged in the huge farmhouse-style kitchen, before heading into the grand adjoining dining room to enjoy a formal family meal or large celebration.

Continuing up the grand staircase, you have nine individual, beautifully decorated bedrooms, each named with a direction of the local area it is looking towards. Bushta boasts a king-size four-poster bed plus an en-suite bathroom with a shower uniquely located in one of the turrets. Hoy, Mey, Holburn, Morvan, Olrig and Dwarwick offer a range of flexible, en-suite sleeping arrangements, whilst Stroma and St John’s boast a final king-size zip-and-link and twin bedroom for you to choose from. All the bedrooms benefit from access to a family bathroom, plus their unique characters all stay true to the stylish yet rustic décor of the rest of the property.

Outside, you can admire incredible coastal views in all directions. The walled courtyard laid with pebbles includes a pretty water feature and centres around a beautiful firepit, perfect for summer sundowners or roasting marshmallows in the winter months. There are plenty of tucked-away sections of lawn that children will love to discover and play in. You also have access to 1,800 acres of moorland and cliff paths to explore; one leads to a peaceful, secluded sandy beach and another over to Dunnet Head Lighthouse.
