Enjoy skiing, snowboarding and even tubing at Hillend, fishing on the River North Esk or exploring the beautiful Pentland Hills, all within 5 miles.

Step inside this delightful single-storey lodge into the reception hall and walk through to the light and bright lounge with wonderful high vaulted ceilings. Relax and admire the beautiful views over the gardens through the two large picture windows with French doors leading directly out to the landscaped, wraparound gardens. On those cooler evenings, light up the open fire. Continuing through to the rear hall, you will find two individually decorated, twin zip-and-link bedrooms (which can be made into super-king-size beds on request). One is with an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC and the other is with an en-suite shower room with a shower cubical and a WC. Both bedrooms also boast a TV, garden views, trouser presses and hairdryers. Continuing back through to the main hall, you are then met with the cosy and comfortable snug with a wood burner, Smart TV, a card table with an array of games to enjoy, and a reading lamp – it’s the perfect space to enjoy a great book. Next is the spacious dining area with a piano, which is the ideal spot to enjoy family or romantic meals. Directly adjacent is the well-equipped kitchen with an AGA oven, electric oven with gas hob, Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, food processer and Alexa Bluetooth speaker. Leading off the main hall is the utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer, followed by a handy stylish WC. It also has a TV, a trouser press, a hairdryer and splendid garden and countryside views to enjoy. Finally, completing this wonderful property is the spacious boot room with direct access out to the fully enclosed garden.

Venturing outside, the landscaped and fully enclosed wraparound gardens boast a BBQ and seating areas for al fresco dining or lazy evening stargazing. From the isolated and peaceful Shetland Islands in the north to the thriving border towns and cities in the south, across wild mountains and serene lochs, and encompassing over 700 islands, Scotland’s rich and dramatic landscape simply must be seen to be appreciated. Scotland is home to the ten highest mountains in the UK – including Ben Nevis, the UK’s highest peak – and is bordered by three seas, offering epic scenery unlike any other you may have seen.

Whether you choose to explore the Highlands, lowlands or islands, lovers of the great outdoors will be thrilled by the stunning Scottish landscapes where some of the rarest UK wildlife can be glimpsed, including golden eagles, dolphins and whales. Take a road trip on the North Coast 500, Scotland’s version of Route 66, to experience the sheer beauty of the land’s wilderness or, as Scotland is the home of golf, either tee off at one of the 550 courses across parkland, heathland and links courses.

Scotland is also a land of unique culture where the people are renowned for their incredible warmth and hospitality. Experience the peaceful Isle of Lewis where Scots Gaelic is widely spoken, or immerse yourself in the cosmopolitan cities of Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen which are vibrant with thriving arts scenes, delicious restaurants and bustling nightlife. And no trip to Scotland is complete without exploring the castles and distilleries: learn about clan rivalries or bloody battles amongst 13th-century battlements or try a taste of Scotland itself during a tour of one of the 120 whisky distilleries. Pure Scottish culture in a glass.

With so many beautiful places to visit and things to experience, a break to Scotland should not be missed. Our fantastic Scottish holiday cottages will ensure a truly memorable getaway. Whether it’s a dog-friendly countryside cottage for two, or a vast and resplendent castle for the entire clan on a tranquil island, we have a holiday in Scotland to suit everyone.
