This traditional property affords a great location approximately half a mile from a picturesque bay and boasts gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape. A perfect romantic retreat for couples who wish to explore the Scottish Highlands, this cottage sits in an idyllic setting within the fishing port of Lochinver - a pretty spot between the waterside and the majestic mountains of Suilven and Canisp at the heart of Assynt. The location has plenty of opportunities for visitors looking to explore Scotland on foot, bicycle or by car. There are even opportunities for those of you who are more adventurous and who enjoy kayaking and climbing.

This spacious cottage has been decorated in a traditional style with a homely and welcoming lounge which boasts an open fire (available on request) - perfect for romantic evenings during the winter months. In the lounge you will also find several comfortable leather sofas, TV, Hi-Fi and a small table and chair; the blankets and cushions give this space a real cosy feel. The large kitchen/diner provides plenty of space to prepare your meals. This room is fully equipped with everything you will need including an oven, washing machine and microwave. The twin bedroom is classic in style with white walls and a traditional ornate fireplace. There is a bathroom with shower over bath too.

The super pretty garden area provides beautiful views and an idyllic setting from which to enjoy the sunshine and scenery. This enclosed space has a pond and seating area which overlooks the village.

The property is located in an area which provides ample walking opportunities. Explore on foot or cycle along the roads to experience some of the prettiest views in Scotland. Lochinver has plenty to offer its visitors. Here you will find a host of fantastic restaurant choices as well as craft shops, pubs and grocery shops all within 1 mile from the property.

Slightly further afield (approximately 19 miles from the property) you can explore the Assynt Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which is a paradise for outdoor lovers. Here you can experience some of the best hikes in the area and if you're ready for a challenge, you can climb to the Assynt Viewpoint, where the panoramic vistas will take your breath away.

If you have a car you can travel a little further along the scenic single-track road (approximately 17 miles) to the coast of Kylesku, which not only boasts spectacular scenery but an award-winning bridge too, which is largely considered an architectural feat.

Easy walk to the village with excellent tea rooms, pie shop, butcher etc. Not to mention the view! Boat trips, fishing and swimming.

Great cottage in good setting with views of Lochinver. Lovely lady owner. Everything was provided, including all kitchen equipment and plenty of towels. The back garden was amazing. We were lucky to have a week of sun, and sat out every day. Ate in the local restaurants and cafe. Recommended.

Heather Brae is a very cosy and peaceful cottage with everything you could need. We enjoyed the open fire and the garden full of daffodils. Such a beautiful area and plenty of walks from the cottage. Thank you for the biscuits too!

This appealing traditional cottage is ideally situated looking over Lochinver, wonderfully quiet without having to repeatedly negotiate the single track coastal roads unless you want to! We found it ideal for two people, really comfortable, well equipped and cosy, and had a fabulous holiday exploring Assynt. Convenient location, just a short walk from the shops with a nice garden, which would be even better when able to enjoy outside in summer, though still nice in March. Kitchen was very well equipped. I was surprised there was no wi-fi, which I have had in much more remote places. I realise it doesn't say there is wi-fi, though something you come to Read moreexpec and caught me off guard. Might not be an issue for some, personally I had to conserve data. I felt the place could be a bit cleaner in general. Hide

An immaculate, well equipped and cosy cottage. Quiet and peaceful location with a nice well maintained garden. Ideal location to explore the local area. Walking out of the cottage each morning down to the village and along the seafront to the harbour was a joy. We enjoyed our stay at Heather Brae cottage located near Lochinver as it was ideally located to visit the surrounding area including Achmelvich beach and enjoying the onsite fresh fish and chips .Another day we walked from Lochinver along the river culminating in views of Suilven .Further afield it was possible to visit Sandwood bay with a wide beaRead morech & tall rock formation at one end .Although we have stayed near Lochinver before ,we would recommend this cottage as the best . . A cosy, comfortable cottage on the outskirts of Lochinver. Very welcoming. Well placed for walking in the area. Small shops and good restaurants in easy walking distance. (There's also a fast charger for EVs in the village for those it's relevant to!)

A comfortable and warm cottage, ideal for two people, in a beautiful part of the North West Highlands. It is well equipped and everything we needed was there. It is ideally placed in Lochinver village, with all the local amenities within walking distance.

A traditional Scottish cottage in an ideal situation within very easy walking distance of Lochinver. Some lovely well stocked shops and good restaurants. An excellent base for those who like to stroll or tackle the higher mountains. Red deer on your doorstep. Lovely beaches close by.

This cottage is ideally suited to people who intend to spend their days out walking or simply enjoying the countryside and surrounding beaches etc. My only disappointment with Lochinver is that I couldn't find anywhere that provided a decent meal with fresh local produce.
