The Isle of Arran has got everything you’ll need for an action-packed holiday from beaches to mountains. Its largest mountain is Goatfell (9.5 miles) and there are some spectacular views on the ascent and at the summit. Glen Rosa (14.5 miles) is also stunning where you can visit the ‘blue pool’ for a quick dip. Remember to bring your binoculars because there is plenty of wildlife such as red squirrels, golden eagles and sea otters. Arran is also well-known for its local produce from cheese to oatcakes to ice cream, so be sure to sample some of these delights. Lochranza is home to Arran Distillery with its visitor centre and shop where you can enjoy a wee dram. Visitors usually access Arran via ferry into Brodick, but there is now a ferry into Lochranza itself from Claonaig, on the Kintyre peninsula.

The house is in a stunning location, the views from the the large windows are wonderful. It is spacious and its good to have a separate dining room. The utility room is a bonus especially if you have dogs and small children, easy to clean up before going into the main house. The position at the top of the island is great for exploring both west andRead more east coast. Hide

House was cold with lots of flies around and had not been cleaned properly as very dusty, toilets, sinks dirty. Got in touch with owner who was not helpful at all and they also control your heating, hot water so you cant do your own thing. We ran out of hot water so couldnt all have showers in one day!
