Lying on the west coast of the Isle of Skye between Dunvegan and Struan, this three-bedroom cottage keeps your comfort at its forefront, with uninterrupted views over Loch Bracadale from almost every window and winding paths from the front door leading to some breathtaking unique habitats for a glimpse of some wonderful native wildlife. The coast is only a stone’s throw away, offering miles of white sands and turquoise waters to explore.

This three-bedroom cottage mirrors the traditional rugged heritage of the grass and woodland surrounding it, utilising lots of natural wood, earthy neutral tones, rustic traditional décor and large picture windows framing the gorgeous unspoilt view over Loch Bracadale.

After a day’s adventure, hang your coat in the handy entrance porchway before heading through to the well-equipped kitchen/diner to whip up some scran to be enjoyed by all the family around the farmhouse-style wooden dining table and chairs. When it’s time to unwind, snuggle up on the comfy sofa in the living room and catch the latest blockbuster on the Smart TV in front of the roaring wood burner as the cool evening air settles. At the end of the day, retreat to either the double or twin bedroom to rest before another day’s adventure. Downstairs, you’ll also find a well-appointed family bathroom.

The first floor comprises an en-suite double bedroom underneath the eaves of the cottage, flooded with natural sunlight from the Velux windows overlooking the rugged surrounding grassland.

Outside, you can further appreciate the dramatic landscape in the generous, enclosed garden with a large lawn, perfect for children to explore whilst you enjoy dining alfresco with the wonderful views over Loch Bracadale as your backdrop.

The larger village of Dunvegan, 7 miles away, offers a plethora of independent shops for those needing some retail therapy, Skye’s oldest bakery, some fantastic restaurants, an art gallery, and a handful of sweet gift shops. At the heart of the 42,000-acre MacLeod Estate, delve into the area’s rich history at the magnificent Dunvegan Castle and Gardens just under 9 miles away, perfect for history lovers and picnic takers.

After enjoying Dunvegan Castle, just north of Dunvegan, take the whole family for a walk down to Coral Beach in Claigan, 9 miles away. With crushed white coral-like seaweed, the waters appear a tropical blue and are perfect for you to take a gentle swim.

Centred around a natural harbour, boarded by high cliffs, the island’s capital Portree, 14 miles away, offers excellent leisure facilities including the Fingal Centre with a swimming pool and gym for you to enjoy. The town also hosts the island’s largest event, Skye Highland Games, a gem not to be missed that preserves the rich 2,000-year history of the area.

Ideal base to explore Skye. The beds and sofas are very comfortable, theres everything you need for a family with a couple of dogs - we had small dogs so we took them out on leads in the garden as there are gaps in the fence they could escape through.

We loved our stay - a comfortable, well equipped and relaxed cottage and an excellent location for exploring the whole of Skye. Enclosed garden was safe for our small dog. Seeing seals and dolphins from the kitchen window was a bonus! Ken was very helpful and quick to respond.

Had a lovely break however we do feel as though the cottage would benefit from some attention. It was comfortable enough but there were many areas that could do with some upgrading or fixing - broken floor tiles, rusty fittings and broken bed. The cottage however is in a lovely location and the view is amazing - it just needs a little bit of love.

3 stars. Picturesque location. Clean cosy cottage. Would benefit from, new and improved kitchen equipment, knives, pots and pans etc. Needs a clothes horse and mop and bucket (Skye's lovely but it does rain and get muddy).

Quiet location with great garden for our dog. TV and phone reception can be an issue as it is in a remote area and signals come and go. Great if you want to get away from it all. Interesting little cafe opposite. Warm and cosy when the weather is inclement.
