Beautiful cottage, lovely welcoming owners who left a lovely welcome pack. Cottage was huge but warm and as we had snow the warmth was appreciated. It is quite remote, nearest shop, pub and restaurants were a car drive but the isolation was wonderful. Good dog walks - on leads and access to fully enclosed garden. I cant rate this cottage high enougRead moreh. Wonderful holiday - we were told the best way to get into Edinburgh was by train and this info turned out to be a god send. Hide

Lovely accommodation and grounds. Well equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing break.

The cottage is probably even more remote than the description suggests. I think prospective guests should be aware that it is 11/2 miles on a track with 3 cattle grids through fields with bullocks and sheep after leaving the nearest hamlet. Once you get there , the welcome from Pat is great, the owners are friendly, and the cottage is very peacefulRead more. It is not all that easy to walk the dog straight from the cottage because of all the livestock, but there are lots of great walks around. Hide

We had a great stay at The Byre at Brothershiels. The Byre was clean and well equipped with some lovely finishing touches. We stayed in July but imagine that the enclosed hot tub would be ideal during rainy getaways. The location was great and easy to get to drink Edinburgh and Glasgow. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage, owners very helpful and made us welcome. Only issue is access to garden and hot tub. Also dogs cannot go out without lead due to farm animals. But still had a great weekend
