The village of Durness is 0.5 miles away with a couple of eateries and shops. Scotland’s most popular driving route, the North Coast 500 passes through the area too, with many people stopping off to visit here. Don’t skip a visit to the magnificent Sango Bay (0.5 miles), a superb, sandy, cliffside beach, which is home to a wide variety of wildlife and dramatic scenery, and is popular for fishing.

Just 3.5 miles away is the Golden Eagle Zip Line. Take a ride on the most northerly zipline next to the Atlantic Ocean over the beautiful beach of Ceannabeinne. While here, you could also take a walk on the Ceannabeinne Township Trail, a route on the site of an abandoned village.

If you prefer to stay firmly on the ground, visit Balnakeil Beach (2 miles), a wide sandy beach backed by dunes, that looks like something straight out of a holiday brochure. Take a walk around the beach and the headland and enjoy the calmness of the bay.

If any members of the group like to play golf, Durness Golf Club (2 miles) offers a spectacular course with a challenging final hole. Those who enjoy fishing can try out trout and salmon fishing from the beaches, or head to Loch Caladail (1.5 miles) or Loch Borralie (2.8 miles) for trout fishing.
