This delightful cottage sits along the edge of the River Nith, one of Scotland’s most prolific salmon fishing locations and offers spectacular scenery to relax within. Located within the grounds of a traditional country house, one of a hamlet of holiday lets, it is a contemporary-styled retreat for up to four guests and perfectly placed to make the best of the natural surrounding area. Families and couples travelling together are sure to enjoy its convenience to plenty of local attractions, quaint surroundings, favourable placement near amenities and the vast array of walking trails that can be tackled directly from your doorstep.

Upon entering from the shared garden, you’ll find yourselves in the spacious hallway, which is where you’ll also find the utility room, a handy space for muddy boots and for coats to be stored away. The contemporary open-plan kitchen and living area is very spacious and – due largely to its large feature skylight – bright and airy too. The kitchen offers all you need to cater for yourselves comfortably, before retiring to the lounge area for a good dose of rest and relaxation. The property boasts two well-appointed bedrooms, one with a super-king-size bed and one twin bedroom, both stylishly decorated. There is also a modern family shower room with WC.

To the front of the property is a large shared lawn with benches which overlook the picturesque River Nith, so you can sit back and take in the views or perhaps even enjoy a picnic on the lawn. Guests also have access to the restaurant and bar located within the country house hotel.

With the River Nith located moments from your doorstep, you won’t have to venture far to enjoy waterside activities. Known as one of Scotland’s most prolific salmon rivers, it is a wonderful location to cast out on. The river can also be appreciated by those looking to tee off at the local golf club; Sanquhar (0.5 miles) sits amid rousing panoramas with commanding views across the River Nith, an incredibly picturesque course.

Walkers and cyclists are sure to enjoy the many routes and trails through the three beautiful passes nearby and many trails of varying terrain to suit all abilities. Popular walks nearby include Euchan Glenn, The Holm Woods, and Sanquhar Moor to Black Loch. And with plenty of welcoming inns and cafes within the village, you can enjoy plenty of comfort breaks. Sanquhar is also located along the South West Coastal 300 touring route – famed for its spectacular scenery.

Further afield, the iconic art installation, Crawlick Multiverse, (1 mile) is an inspiring place to spend a day; the former coal mine has been transformed into an awesome outdoor space to be enjoyed by all ages – with dogs welcome too. More traditional gardenscapes can be witnessed and enjoyed at Drumlanrig Castle and Gardens (10.5 miles).

Lovely little setting, easy access to the wee local town. Cottage was nice albeit a little tired around some edges which we have relayed to the owners. Wouldn't take much to make this wee cottage really special. Would go back though as it was a nice place.

Lovely peaceful riverside setting group of 3 cottages with adjacent parking. Short walk round to Blackaddie House for good dinner menu especially pastas.

We had a great time in this spacious and well equipped cottage. We found the locals very friendly and used the local shops a lot. Unlike other cottages we've stayed in the Internet connection was good and pretty fast.

potential to be a lovely cottage but not very well equipped and would benefitfrom some upgrades. Also note for dog owners, the garden is not secure.
