A trip to this unique part of Scotland will only be complete with a stop at the Glenshee Ski Centre, which boasts extensive skiing and snowboarding facilities. It even has the largest lift system in Britain!

Walkers may like to take in the magnificent scenery of the Glenshee Mountains with many of their low-level walking routes. For the adrenaline-fuelled group, there are 21 Munros to explore within a 14-mile radius of the Cairnwell pass (12.5 miles), while the nature enthusiasts of the troop may like to follow some of the waymarked routes through the Cairngorms' heather moorlands and peatlands to discover some of its rare species of birds, animals and plants.

The Scottish home of the Royal Family, Balmoral Castle, is 29 miles away and has fantastic grounds and incredible architecture from which to admire as you mosey to the Mews Gift Shop and Cafe. Enjoy a pitstop here over coffee and cake and read up on Balmoral's history dating back to 1852.
