Fully equipped for all of your cooking needs, the contemporary bespoke kitchen is a great space for unleashing your inner chef. The breakfast bar is ideal for casual meals while the dining table accompanied by lovely seaside scenery through the French doors is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner for two. All set on one level, the bedroom is situated through the hallway. This lovingly decorated king-size bedroom is a cosy space and ensures a peaceful sleep after a day in the fresh sea air. Contemporary and stylish, the bathroom boasts a shower and a freestanding bath.

The local village of Dundrennan is 6 miles away and is most notable for its ruins of Dundrennan Abbey, a 12th-century monastery. Here you'll also find a shop for your convenience. Just 10 miles away from Rascarrel lies Castle Douglas, a lovely town well-known for its excellent eateries, local markets and fresh produce. It is also home to a broad selection of independent shops. Carlingwark Loch, dotted with small islands, is situated beside Castle Douglas and provides a great opportunity for romantic picnics, or even boating. At the far end of the loch sits the National Trust property Threave Garden and Estate which boasts picturesque grounds that are delightful to walk through all year round.

Further afield from Rascarrel, situated about 27 miles away, lies Galloway Forest Park. This incredible location offers serene lochs and miles of forested glens, as well as some of the highest hills in southern Scotland. However, the most impressive part is that this Forest Park is the first in the UK to be honoured with a Dark Sky Park status, meaning that the view of the stars is truly spectacular and well worth a visit.
