Single-storey attractive accommodation with 1 king-size bedroom and well-equipped open-plan living area. 4 luxury and attractive bespoke detached lodges set privately around a large secluded bay, each with an enclosed balcony with a private hot tub and seating. Located in an elevated position with stunning sea views, a stone’s throw from the seashore. Post Office, shop and restaurant 2 miles.

This stunning lodge sits on a private estate that curls its way around the ruggedly beautiful Rascarrel Bay on the south-west coast of Scotland. It provides you with a romantic retreat that you’ll remember for a lifetime, with luxurious moments and views that will inspire endless hours of daydreaming.

The lodge is one of four, set in an elevated position overlooking the sea. Thoughtfully and lovingly designed, the rooms are stylish, sleek, and cosy all at the same time. It has been built to enjoy the astonishing sea views from the surrounding coastal landscape, and features every amenity (and some extras you won’t expect) to make your stay a memorable one.

Head inside to discover the main sociable heart of the home, an open-plan living space, combining kitchen, dining area, and lounge. The kitchen is chic and smartly designed, with all the equipment you could need to craft romantic meals for the two of you. You can then take your supper to the lovely dining table and eat with a backdrop of sweeping sea vistas from the giant windows. The lounge is a calming space with TV and doors leading out to the balcony. When you’re ready, head through into your bedroom, a delightful space with its own French doors leading outside too, so you can sneak out for a late-night dip in the hot tub.

The exterior of the property is the highlight - a decked balcony, spacious with dining furniture, and a hot tub, where you can soak under the stars after a busy day of exploring.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The lodge enjoys a terrific location overlooking Rascarrel Bay, and there are endless ways to make the most of the surrounding beauty from right outside your front door. Head down to the shore and wander along the curling, winding, craggy coastline, which joins the Solway Firth. Follow a trail through the private estate and relax on the beach in solitude or take a more adventurous route and go cycling or hiking around the rockier parts of the landscape.

When you're in the mood for a meal out, head to the local village of Auchencairn (3 miles), where you can pick up groceries and absorb the remote atmosphere surrounded by the Dumfries and Galloway woods and hills.

Or, if you fancy more diverse town life, Castle Douglas is a scenic 11-mile drive north. It's a pretty town with a rich history, sitting beside Carlingwark Loch. Here you can discover art, culture, local eateries and shops, or gather up a little local history with a visit to Threave Castle, a stunning and imposing fortress which sits on a grassy island in the middle of the River Dee - it was built in 1369, and was the home of Archibald the Grim.
