If you’re keen on a Scottish rural break with up to four dogs, this wooden cabin in the glorious Clyde Valley makes the perfect location. The one-bed property is located on a working farm with sheep, goats and alpacas you can get to know, as well as the owners’ seven dogs. When you’re not soaking in your hot tub or absorbing the peaceful surrounding vistas, explore the scenic landscapes and historic sites of Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders.

Constructed solely from timber, this delightful dwelling has a distinctive and rustic ambience reminiscent of a mountain hut. The arched wooden ceilings contribute to a cosy and inviting setting, while the captivating vistas of expansive fields encourage complete relaxation. As you settle in, you’ll notice a number of animal-themed touches that are in keeping with the farm setting.

Inside, the open-plan living area has everything you need for eating and relaxing, with a lounge, Smart TV and adequate kitchen. A door from this space leads to a generous king-sized bedroom that’s ideal for one guest or a couple. This further connects to a well-designed wet room. Thoughtfully created with pets in mind, the cabin features padded, anti-skid floors to ensure your dogs’ well-being during your stay.

Outside, you'll find multiple spaces to enjoy, starting with your cabin’s own enclosed garden featuring artificial turf and a secluded hot tub that overlooks the fields and woodlands. A shared communal grassy area overlooks an unfenced pond, and there’s an indoor BBQ hut you can hire out for a romantic dinner. For your four-legged family members, an off-lead exercise field is also available.

The pretty local area is a nature lover’s dream, with plenty of forest paths you can discover by foot or by bike. At Tinto Hill, 4.5 miles away, you’ll have the opportunity to go trout fishing or. If you’re feeling energetic, head up to its peak (8 miles) to take in expansive views over the Clyde Valley. This straightforward circular route is approximately 4 miles and should take roughly three hours for a return trip. The historic market town of Biggar lies 5.5 miles away – head there for a drink in a local pub or a nice meal out. The museum is also worth checking out if you wish to learn more about the region's archaeological, social and historical significance.

Starting 10 miles away at Lanark Loch, the Clyde Valley Tourist Route showcases stunning countryside, elusive wildlife, historical castles and industrial landmarks. We strongly recommend the Falls of Clyde Wildlife Reserve (11 miles), renowned for its breathtaking waterfalls. Take your binoculars – this is a prime spot for viewing bats, badgers and over 100 bird species.

At Chatelherault Country Park (20 miles), wander round the 18th-century hunting lodge before discovering 600-year-oaks within its 500 acres of woodland, then popping into the lovely café for some tea and cake.

The city of Edinburgh, 29 miles away, is of course teeming with attractions like shops, art galleries, museums and world-famous attractions including Arthur’s Seat. A visit to its impressive castle is certainly worthwhile.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the hot tub was amazing and the cabin was cosy. Highly recommend for a winter feel good getaway.

Fabulous location and facilities. We had an amazing stay and looking forward to returning. The dogs loved it too as they had a small private garden and access to the large exercise area. The hosts are extremely friendly.

A lovely weekend with our doggos in a super dog friendly cabin, surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Really comfortable, cosy, and well equipped, with plenty of space for our dogs own day beds and their crates, both sleep better overnight when in their crates do having space for these was fab.

We stayed in the Alpaca barn and had our 4 dogs with us . This place is so lovely and so peaceful. The owners have really thought of everything to make it an enjoyable stay - from dog treats and poo bags to fresh milk in the fridge for your arrival. There also treats in the form of locally baked biscuits , for the humans lol. The garden is fully enRead moreclosed , and you have great views all around . There was a "smart TV" in the lounge and the free wi-fi is very fast . Highly recommend Hide

Beautiful views and a really lovely place. Cottage was extremely clean and had everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Great place to take dogs to. Owners were friendly and extremely helpful. Will definitely be back!
