This charming wooden cabin nestled in the Clyde Valley is located on a bustling farm, offering a tranquil base for exploring Lanarkshire and the Scottish Borders. With one king-size bed, the sweet property is wonderful for a solo traveller or a couple keen for a peaceful Scottish holiday.

This delightful cabin, one of six in the same style, boasts a minimalist decor that lets the natural wood stand out. The flooring is cushioned and non-slip, to ensure your four-legged friends feel at ease.

Inside, you’ll have a central open-plan living area with a sofa and a Smart TV for quiet evenings in. The kitchenette comes fully equipped for whipping up delicious meals, and there’s a dining table for hearty breakfasts and suppers. When you’re ready to retire for the night, sink into the comfy king-size bed. A roomy wet room completes the indoor space.

Step outdoors to dine in the fresh air or immerse yourself in the private hot tub for an indulgent treat. You're also welcome to enjoy the shared lawn that surrounds the farm's six cabins, which overlooks a large, unfenced pond. You can rent the indoor BBQ hut if you fancy a sizzle-up and there’s also a secure, off-lead exercise field available, offering the perfect setting for your pets to roam freely.

Climb up the summit of the nearby Tinto Hill (8 miles) to enjoy rewarding views over the Clyde Valley, or try your hand at trout fishing in one of the local lochs at Tinto (4.5 miles)

Biggar, a historic market town 5.5 miles away, is a wonderful place to while away a few hours, whether you fancy sipping ale in a local pub or enjoying a meal in one of the town’s many eateries. There’s also a museum for lapping up some knowledge about the area’s archaeological and social history.

Clyde Wildlife Reserve (11 miles), famous for its spectacular waterfalls, is just one of the local spots on the popular Clyde Valley Tourist Route, which is a fantastic way to discover more about this area’s countryside, wildlife, castles and industrial heritage. The reserve is wonderful for spotting wildlife such as bats, badgers and birds, so don’t forget your binoculars. The pretty Lanark Loch (10 miles), which has a 1-mile walk around it, is also on the route.

At Chatelherault Country Park (20 miles), discover an 18th-century hunting lodge and make the most of the gorge views and picnic areas. Seeking more town than country? Drive the 29 miles to Edinburgh for an action-packed day exploring Arthur’s Seat, the wonderful castle and an excellent selection of shops and restaurants.

We were looking for a quiet break that had the option of a dog. This came up and I believe we couldn't have found much better. Cabin was clean, quirky, perfect size(for 2 adults and dog) quiet and the hot tub was a great addition. Drove to Biggar(10 min drive) had a nice walk, some lunch worth a visit. The farm has good options for walking the dog.Read more All in all it was exactly what we were looking for. I'm not one who posts often at anytime, but I feel in this case it's deserved. Hide
