For a restful break in the Scottish countryside with your loved ones and dogs, plan a stay at this bustling farm in the scenic Clyde Valley. You’ll be in a charming wooden hut made from wood panelling for a rustic atmosphere. The site has wonderful views, a hot tub and an exercise where your dogs can roam and play freely. And when it’s time to explore, the surrounding area offers mile upon mile of pretty forest trails to discover.

Created with dogs in mind, the cabin has been thoughtfully designed to accommodate your furry friends, complete with cushioned, non-slip floors. The dome-like wooden ceilings create a cosy ambience, while animal-themed accessories create a playful and welcoming look. You’ll be able to admire views over the surrounding fields from many of the windows.

The inviting lounge area offers an open-concept space that’s perfect for gathering and kicking back after a day's activities. In the well-equipped kitchen, cook up delicious family meals to be enjoyed at the wooden dining table. When you’re tired from walking or cycling, relax on the plush sofa to catch up on a show or film on the Smart TV. The cabin's layout is completed by a family bedroom with a king-size bed and a bunk bed, as well as a modern wet room for washing and showering.

Outside, you’ll have a small private area featuring your hot tub. The six cabins on the property share a larger grassy area with views over a large, unfenced pond. For a fresh-air family feast, you can rent the BBQ hut directly from the owners.

The dwelling makes an excellent springboard for diving into the local landscapes, whether you prefer exploration by foot, bike or horseback.

Tinto Hill (4.5 miles) offers trout fishing as well as a great walk up to the summit (8 miles) where commanding Clyde Valley views will reward you for your efforts.

For pubs, restaurants and local museums, head to Biggar (5.5 miles) and spend half a day looking round this historic market town before eating out at one of many restaurants or pubs.

If you’re keen to make sure you experience everything this delightful region has to offer, the Clyde Valley Tourist Route creates the perfect opportunity. This scenic route takes in takes in gasp-worthy countryside, historic castles and local wildlife like bats, badgers and birds. You can start 10 miles away at Lanark Loch, or head to the Clyde Wildlife Reserve (11 miles), famous for its spectacular waterfalls.

Chatelherault Country Park (20 miles) also has much to offer visitors, with its 18th-century hunting lodge, 600-year-old oak trees, impressive gorge and routed pathways. Children will love the adventure playground, and you can finish off in the café for a refreshing cuppa.

The city of Edinburgh (29 miles) is also a great option for a day out, with its multitude of entertainment options, fortified castle and pretty Holyrood Park, which has Arthur’s Seat as its summit.

What a beautiful place to get away from it all, We had such a nice chilled out weekend away from our manic life. Absolutely perfect for us and the kids just loved the hottub. We even got to meet the Alpacas. Lovely woodlands to walk around and plenty wildlife from squirrels to Owls. Would definitely come back just get away from it all and switch ofRead moref from reality. The place and facilities were wonderful! Pet friendly, comfy, warm and welcoming. They left a welcome pack with poo bags, dog treats, biscuits for us and milk in the fridge! Couldnt fault it and we will book again x

The cottage was well equipped and comfy. We loved the fact we could take our 5 dogs, about the only place in Scotland that would accept us. They have a secure exercise area which you can use and lots of throws and hooks for dog leads. The hot tub was lovely for us to relax in. It was a very peaceful time away

We had a lovely time at the cottage, with our 2 dogs. Location was great and no issues with privacy. Great to have access to walks from the cottage and an enclosed dog field. Cottage was cosy and comfortable.

Cottage and surrounding area were lovely. Beds were super comfortable and family enjoyed the hot tub. Great having the enclosed field for letting the dogs off lead. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very nicely presented and had everything we needed. It is in a lovely rural location with good parking. The outdoor hot tub was a great touch. The owners gave us lots of good local recommendations which we enjoyed.

This was so beautiful, they thought of everything, spotlessly clean so cosy, even come round in the morning with fresh eggs off the farm, no improvements needed as it was Perfect. Stunning scenery beautiful hot tub just Amazing would highly recommend was sad to leave, wanted more time there, definitely will be back, loved it

Loved our holiday! Wanted somewhere dog friendly with a great location for walks, quirky and with a hot tub! The pig sty ticked all these boxes. We had a great time, look forward to returning!

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in the Pig Pen. Two adults, 8yo child, and three dogs. The cottage was spotless and well equipped. It was warm day and night. Watching the stars and meteors from the hot tub was a highlight of our trip. Walks in the nearby woods were a treat. Highly recommend.

This was a last minute booking after a very stressful week . This place is amazing, owner's were very friendly and helpful.
